February 21st Update On Our Auburn Color Litter:
Here is the news everyone has been waiting for regarding the birth of our recent darker Auburn color litter of pups. Willow and Rhett are the proud parents of 10 beautiful puppies, 5 boys and 5 girls. All 10 pups are healthy, strong, and growing quickly. Momma is doing great and is doing a wonderful job of caring for her babies. We will be posting pictures of momma and the pups all together in the whelping box by February 28th. For those of you who've been anxiously awaiting this news on our Priority reservation list, if you are in position Nos. 1 thru 5 on the Auburn reservation list for either a male or female pup, then starting Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, March 18th thru the 20th, you will be choosing your puppy either in person here at our facility or thru video chat with us and the puppies. The price of the boy and girl pups are $1800 based on our 2022 prices (click here for more info on 2022 puppy pricing). Please login to your customer account to see where you are in the choosing order because you could have moved up the list (we will never move anyone down lower on the list unless you tell us that you want to postpone until the next litter).
Please get in touch with us by phone, text, email or noting in your customer account to confirm that you would like to either drive out to our facility or schedule a video chat to see the pups. Those who are higher up on the waiting list (No. 1 or 2) should try to schedule your appointment with us on Friday (or Saturday morning at the latest). We will only accept one family at a time to see the pups and those that contact us the earliest will have more choices for a date and time to come out or video chat with us. If we haven't heard from you by March 11th, we will call you and let you know what dates and times we have left. When you pick your specific puppy from this litter, you will be required to place an additional deposit so that the total amount of all your deposits is at least $1000, and this will all go toward your purchase price.
If you are not in the top 5 boys or top 5 girls on our 1st Priority reservation list, you can request a refund of your deposit by text, email, or phone, which will be processed within 24 hours. If you can't remember where you are on the waiting list, you can login to your customer account to check. However, if we don't hear from you, we will automatically move you up the list for the next Auburn litter planned for the Fall of 2022. Everyone will move up from where you were before and those of you on the 2nd Priority list will move up to 1st Priority behind those already in 1st Priority that didn't get a puppy this time. To move up to 1st Priority from 2nd Priority, you must place an additional $100 deposit so that your total deposit amount becomes $300.
Those who were on the Standby list for this Auburn litter will automatically be moved to Standby for the next Auburn litter planned for the Fall of 2022, and you also have the option of moving to a Priority spot by placing a deposit.
Many thanks to everyone on our waiting list who has been patiently waiting, and we sincerely regret not having enough puppies for everyone to be able to get one at this time. Our heart goes out to you because everyone deserves a puppy! This is something we wish we had more control over but we don't. We are hopeful and thankful for your understanding, and we hope you will stay with us for another season, but if you choose not to, we completely understand.
If we are unable to offer you a puppy, you have up until March 28th, 2022 to request a refund of your deposit. After that date, your deposit becomes non-refundable but can still be applied to the purchase of a puppy from a future litter.
February 14th Update On Our Auburn Color Litter:
On Monday, February 14th, 2022, Willow and Rhett became the proud parents of their most recent Auburn color litter of pups. There were no complications and mom and the pups are doing well. In one week on Monday the 21st, we will announce the number of male and female pups in this litter once we confirm all the pups are healthy and thriving. Then a week after that on the 28th, we will take photos of Willow in the whelping box with her pups and put them up on our website for everyone to enjoy!
Please check your customer accounts starting on or about the 20th or 21st of February to see the upcoming schedule for those of you who will be getting a puppy from this litter. If you are lower down on our waiting list and we do not have enough puppies for you to get one from this litter, we will automatically bump you up to a higher position on the list for the next Auburn litter in 6 to 8 months. Or, you can request a deposit refund if we can not provide a puppy to you from this litter. You will have until March 28th, 2022 to request a refund if we do not have a puppy for you from this litter. Please text, email, or notate your customer account if you would like to request a refund of your deposit.
February 13th Update On Our Upcoming Auburn Color Litter:
We have taken a closer look at the mating records between Rhett and Willow back in December and we have determined what we feel is a more accurate prediction of the projected whelping date for this litter. It seems that the birth of this litter could be as late as Friday, February 18th, 2022 (or sometime between the 13th and the 18th). Our original estimate was based on our observance of possibly a premature mating where Willow may not have been in her "estrus" stage of the heat cycle. The estrus stage is the stage where a female is able to conceive, but not before that stage. So, we are still keeping our fingers crossed until the 18th in hopes of a beautiful litter of darker Auburn color puppies.
February 2nd Update On Our Upcoming Auburn Color Litter:
Willow, our darker Auburn color female’s heat cycle began on November 27th. We observed locks between her and Rhett (our darker Auburn color male) between December 5th and 17th. We are 90% confident Willow has conceived and we are projecting a whelping date between February 6th and 13th. Willow is 8 and a half years old and nearing the end of her fertility stage in life. She is showing all the signs of being pregnant. But, she doesn't get real huge until the final week of her pregnancy which is the only reason we can't be 100% sure at this point. She is very emotional but this is not her first rodeo; she is very good at having pups and is a great, nurturing momma.
A few days ago we started letting her spend time in the nursery so she gets familiar with her surroundings where she will whelp her pups. Denise has all her mid-wife instruments and birthing aides to help Willow with the whelping process. Veterinary ultrasounds are not very accurate for seeing the pups before they are born and X-rays are not something we like do to pregnant moms, so we are not sure how many pups Willow is carrying. The older a female dog gets, many times the size of the litters are comparatively smaller than younger dogs which is good for momma because a large litter is more difficult to care for, harder work for the momma, and the pups have to vie for the best teats that produce the most milk. Therefore, we are hoping for a litter size of maybe only 5 to 7 pups at the most so that momma can enjoy her time with them in the whelping box for the next 4 weeks.
Our next update will be when the pups are born between February 6th and 13th. At that time we will make an announcement of the birth. Then, when the pups are about a week old we will announce the number of male and female pups in this litter and update everyone's account who is on the waiting list for this litter. The following week after that, we will put photos of momma Willow with her pups in the whelping box on our website for all to enjoy. Thanks to everyone for their patience!
