PUPPY PRICING FOR 2024 (The puppy prices listed below apply to puppies that are taken home or delivered On or After January 1st, 2024. This applies to everyone who was on our waiting list in 2023 or earlier, but will not be taking home a puppy until 2024.)

You may be asking yourself why our prices for puppies are much more affordable than so many other breeders and pet stores. The answer is simple: We are not in this for the money, and we did not quit our jobs because we found out we could make a whole lot of money by breeding dogs. No, we do this because we are passionate about Golden Retrievers and we love to bring joy and excitement into people's homes who adopt a puppy into their family. No family or individual should be without a Golden Retriever. They are hands down the best family pet to own and that is the overwhelming consensus from many sources. Many breeders have recently jumped their prices upwards to as much as $3000 to $5000 for a Golden Retriever puppy. Why? Because the pandemic has caused the demand for puppies to be very high and many breeders see this as an opportunity to price gouge the public. But those breeders are not in the breeding business as a passion. They are in it purely for the money. Pet stores are not much different. They will buy a whole litter of maybe 7 or 8 puppies from a breeder for maybe $5000 to $6000 and turn around and sell the puppies for $4000 each. And people will pay that price just to be able to walk in the store and walk out with a puppy that very same day.

Throughout our website, you may have noticed the price of our puppies shows a range. When a puppy litter is born, the price is then fixed when we know how many pups we have available for our customers. We do this because our puppy prices are based on what it costs us to care for our adult Goldens (i.e., Vets bills, food, kennel facilities, treatments, supplements, grooming, utilities, etc), and our expenses to breed our Goldens and raise the puppies for the first nine weeks (i.e., Vet bills, food, nursery facilities, vaccinations, de-wormings, utilities, etc.). In short, our expenses remain pretty much the same whether we have four puppies in a given litter or ten puppies. Therefore, when we have small litters, the price of each puppy is towards the top of the range, and with larger litters, the price is towards the bottom of the range.

Over the years, we noticed when we had a litter with a very small number of one gender (say, 1 or 2 males) and a larger number of the other gender (5 or 6 females), the males would be purchased within a day or two and the females would take a much longer time to sell (or vice-versa). But many people would actually be just as happy with either gender, whereas some people are really depending on and needing a particular gender for various reasons. Because of this, we have set the cost higher for a puppy when there are only a few of that gender in a litter. This is beneficial to some because those with no real gender preference can benefit from the lower price of the puppy gender with plenty available and those with a gender specific need may need to pay more if there ends up being only a few of that gender in the litter.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please keep in mind that when you place a single deposit, you are putting yourself on the waiting list for a male or a female, not both. If you are flexible to have either a male or female puppy, you need to put two (2) deposits down, one on each gender (both deposits will go towards the purchase of one puppy that you will finally take home at 9 weeks of age).

All puppies that are delivered or taken home in 2024 will have a base price of $1800 with a maximum price of $2200. This applies to everyone who was on our waiting list in 2023 or earlier, but will not be taking home a puppy until 2024. The following guidelines give our customers an idea of how the puppy pricing is established for each litter after the pups are born once we know the total number of males and females in a litter:

The base price for a puppy is $1800 and the following adjustments apply:

If the total number of pups is 10 or more, $0 is added to the cost of each pup;
If the total number of pups is 9 or less, $100 is added to the cost of each pup;
If the total number of pups is 7 or less, $200 is added to the cost of each pup;
If the total number of pups is 5 or less, $400 is added to the cost of each pup.

In addition to the above price adjustments, the following also applies:

If the number of pups of either gender is 4 or more, $0 is added to the cost of that gender;
If the number of pups of either gender is 3, $200 is added to the cost of that gender;
If the number of pups of either gender is 2, $300 is added to the cost of that gender;
If the number of pups of either gender is 1, $400 is added to the cost of that gender;

Here are some examples of how the above price adjustments would work out:

A litter of 10 pups is born, 6 males and 4 females, the price of all pups is $1800.
A litter of 8 pups is born, 4 males and 4 females, the price of all pups is $1900.
A litter of 8 pups is born, 5 males and 3 females, males $1900, females $2100.
A litter of 8 pups is born, 6 male and 2 females, males $1900, females $2200.
A litter of 7 pups is born, 5 males and 2 females, males $2000, females $2200.
A litter of 6 pups is born, 1 male and 5 females, male $2200, females $2000.
A litter of 5 pups is born, 2 males and 3 females, the price of all pups is $2200.
A litter of 5 pups is born, 5 males and 0 females, males pups are $2200.

Deposit Amounts and Balance Payments For 2024:

• 1st Priority deposits are $300 (non-refundable if you cancel).
• 2nd Priority deposits are $200 (non-refundable if you cancel).
• Stanby reservations do not require a deposit unless we notify you that we have a puppy for you after they are born. At that time, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required for all Standby reservations.
• In all cases above, your total deposit amount (including all your previous deposits) must come to a total of $1,000 when the puppies turn 5 weeks old. At the time when you come out to our facility to pick your puppy (or video chat with us and the puppies), you will need to make this additional payment.
• Your final balace (purchase price with taxes and shipping if applicable) minus the total amount of all your previously paid deposits must be paid on or before the day your puppy goes to your home. If we are shipping your puppy to you, your balance must be paid the week before we ship. For more information on this please scroll down to the section entitled, "Estimated Shipping Charges".

Please Read Our Purchase Agreement First:

Please read our "Purchase Agreement" and "Supplemental Terms & Conditions" carefully prior to placing a deposit to reserve your puppy. If the puppy is being shipped to you, we will send you the Purchase Agreement and you will need to sign and return it to us by mail. If you are picking your puppy up (no charge) or meeting us at an agreed location for an additional fee, we will bring copies of the Purchase Agreement for you to sign.

Please Submit a Puppy Purchase Application:

We ask that you would submit a "Puppy Purchase Application". This allows us to get to know you a little better so that we can find good homes for our Golden babies. In this little survey, please take the time to answer all the questions with realistic consideration of how you will be able to provide the right kind of care and home for a Golden Retriever puppy.

Read the purchase information below to learn more about how to make your deposit before the puppies are 5 weeks of age, placing a deposit or picking your puppy after they are 5 weeks of age, and finally, picking up or delivery of your puppy at around 9 weeks of age.

Please read our "Check List to Prepare For Your New Puppy", and then read our "Vetting Your Veterinarian" article carefully prior to picking up or taking delivery of your puppy. These two articles will help you make all the important decisions and preparations before and after bringing your new puppy home. If the puppy is being shipped to you, we will send you the Purchase Agreement and you will need to sign and return it to us by mail. If you are picking your puppy up (no charge) or meeting us at an agreed location for an additional fee, we will bring copies of the Purchase Agreement for you to sign.

Acceptable Forms of Payment:

For your initial deposit and all payments made up until two weeks before delivery, we accept personal checks, PayPal, credit cards (using PayPal, even if you don't have a PayPal account), and the Venmo App on your smartphone. For final payments made less than two weeks before shipping your puppy to you, we accept PayPal, Venmo, or U.S Postal Money orders only, but your final payment must be received not less than 72 hours before shipment. If you are picking the puppy up in person and want to pay your balance at that time, we accept cash or Venmo only. Please be aware that anytime PayPal is used with your credit card or bank account, there is a 3.49% + $0.49 fee (approximate) that PayPal receives which amounts to about 4 dollars for every $100 paid. This fee is automatically added to your payment. If you would like to avoid this fee but you don't want to wait on the the U.S. postal service, consider using Venmo, with your smartphone. Before 5 Weeks of Age:

When a Buyer is ready to place a Priority deposit on an upcoming or current litter of puppies, there are PayPal buttons for male and female pups on that puppy info page. You can choose 1st Priority ($300 non-refundable deposit), 2nd Priority ($200 non-refundable deposit), or Standby (no deposit). A 1st Priority reservation will allow you to choose a puppy ahead of all others in 2nd Priority and Standby. A 2nd Priority reservation places you ahead of all Standby reservations, but behind 1st Priority. In simple terms, you can buy your way to the top of the waiting list if you are comfortable with placing a non-refundable deposit. The order in which the priority reservations will make their puppy choices is determined by the order in which we received your deposit. We do not allow anyone to buy their way ahead of others who are already on the priority list (unless you are buying a 1st Priority reservation, in which case you will be placed ahead of all 2nd Priority reservations, but behind others who are alread on 1st Priority reservation list; the same is true for someone buying a 2nd Priority reservation).

After the birth of a litter, those who have a Standby reservation will be offered a puppy choice if puppies are still available after the Priority reservations have made their choices. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at the time when we notify you of this availability. When the puppies reach 5 weeks of age, Buyers will come and see the puppies in person or can request a video chat with us and the puppies.

All Buyers will make their puppy choices at 5 weeks of age according to the oreder in which we received your first deposit. At 5 weeks of age, your total deposit amount (including your previous deposit(s) must come to a total of $1,000 and is payable when you see and pick your specific puppy. The deposit(s) you make will reserve your puppy until it is around nine weeks of age and then the remaining balance will be due at that time. If we are shipping the puppy by air, the remaining balance is due the week before the scheduled shipping date. The remaining balance is the purchase price minus your deposit(s). Sales tax will be applied to ALL PURCHASES in the amount of 6.725% of the purchase price and added to the balance due, UNLESS you DO NOT reside in the state of Missouri AND you are having the puppy delivered to you by airline to an airport outside the state of Missouri. Shipping costs are also additional if needed.

The Buyer may choose to send their first deposit in the form of a personal check however, using the postal mail service may affect your picking order if another Buyer uses the PayPal or Venmo payment methods, which we usually receive within a few hours compared to several days for the postal service. When the puppies reach five weeks of age, the Buyer will come to our facility to see the puppies in person or can request a video chat with us and the puppies. At that time, the Buyer will choose their puppy and increase their deposit to a total of $1,000 (all deposits combined). Alternatively, Priority Buyers can roll their deposit over to the next puppy litter of the same color and gender if something comes up and the timing for a puppy becomes impossible for you to care for. However, a deposit rollover can only be requested a maximum of two (2) times on future litters.

If the Buyer chooses to use the convenience and speed of PayPal to pay any monies towards their puppy purchase, an additional 3.49% + $0.49 is added to the payment to cover the PayPal fees (PayPal deducts this fee from your payment amount before it comes to us). If Venmo payment method is used, there are no additional fees charged by their service at this time.

After 5 Weeks of Age:

If you find pictures on our website of one of our puppies after it is over 5 weeks of age, and it shows that it is still available for purchase, you can purchase that puppy after you have filled out a Puppy Application, read our Purchase Agreement, and spoken to us on the phone. A deposit of $1,000 is required and is non-refundable 72-hours after the payment is made. There will be PayPal and Venmo payment buttons shown next to each available puppy on the puppy litter pages. The Buyer may also choose to send us the $1,000 deposit in the form of a personal check instead of using the on-line payment methods. However, we can only reserve a puppy for you after we receive your personal check, AND it clears your bank (3 to 5 business days later). Keep in mind that PayPal and Venmo are the fastest and surest way that you will get the puppy you are wanting. Before you make your deposit, please be sure to contact us to check on the availability of the puppy you are wanting to purchase. The $1,000 down-payment will reserve the Buyer's puppy until it is around nine weeks of age and then the remaining balance will be due at that time. If we are shipping the puppy by air, the remaining balance is due the week before the scheduled shipping date. The remaining balance is the purchase price minus the $1,000 deposit. Pick-Up or Delivery of Your Puppy:

At around 9 weeks of age, your puppy will be ready for pickup or delivery. Included in the purchase price, each pup will be permanently identified with a microchip identification implant. The puppy number that you see on our listings is the last portion of the puppy's microchip number. We use this number to guarantee you that you are getting the puppy you picked from the litter so there is no chance of mix-ups. For those we are meeting in person at the time of delivery, we scan the puppy's microchip in your presence to verify the puppy you picked. For those who are receiving their puppy by airlines service, your puppy can be scanned by your veterinarian when you go for the puppy's initial check-up. An initial veterinary check-up is required within 10 days after the Buyer receives their puppy.

Microchip Identification:

With the AKC Reunite animal recovery service and database we will pay the enrollment fee to AKC Reunite which is for a lifetime enrollment. Using the contact information you provide to us, we will enroll your puppy in the pet recovery service. The microchip implant is very safe and painless. It gives your pet a unique and permanent identification number and identifies you as its owner. Any vet clinic, animal shelter, or other party who scans your pet and enters the I.D. number into a locator service such as the American Animal Hospital Association will be immediately directed to AKC Reunite who will notify you that your pet has been found (see the logos shown below which will also take you to those websites if clicked). We microchip all of our animals and we think it is essential to keep you and your pet connected.

Estimated Shipping Charges

The purchase price does not include shipping or delivery charges. Shipping or delivery charges (if requested) will be added to the balance due unless you arrange to pick your puppy up at our facility. If you plan to pick up the puppy in the south central Missouri area, there are no shipping charges involved, but you must bring a transport crate for the puppy when we meet with you, and the final balance is payable in cash or Venmo.

If you live within 150 miles of our facility (south central Missouri), or are willing to meet at a pre-arranged location within 150 miles of our facility, we will deliver the puppy for a fee between $150 and $200. You must bring a transport crate for the puppy, and the final balance is payable in cash or Venmo. We also have a special rate where we will deliver your puppy to Kansas City, Missouri at an agreed upon location for a fee of $200.

If shipped by airlines, we schedule same day arrival to minimize your puppy's travel time. The cost for airline shipment is usually $450-$500 for most major airports in the U.S., but can be slightly higher for smaller airports that do not have all of the major airline services. Click Here. Optional airline insurance for your puppy costs an additional $20. If you desire to purchase two (2) puppies, we can ship both for the same price in one larger shipping crate. Airline shipping service always includes a high-quality, airline-approved puppy travel crate that is yours to keep. Purebred Registration:

• When the new puppy owner purchases one of our puppies, we provide you with an American Kennel Club (AKC) application form to register your puppy with Limited AKC Registration (see also this link for more info on AKC registration).
• We do not sell our puppies with Full AKC Registration because our puppies are intended only for the following: (1) a family pet; (2) a companion animal; or various types of service dogs such as (3) guide dogs, (4) advance alert dogs, (5) emotional support dogs; (6) mobility assistance dogs, or (7) PTSD support dogs. If you are looking for a pure bred Golden Retriever that will or might participate in a breeding program, Emery-n-Denise's Golden Puppies^TM is not the right choice for you.

Making Payments Towards a Puppy Purchase:

PayPal and Venmo charge fees IF you choose, "purchase for goods and services" or use credit cards when making your transaction. Those are not our fees and we do not receive them in the net amount transferred to us. Those fees go to the payment service and can vary between 2% and 4% depending on if your money source is coming directly from a bank account, a credit card, a debit card, or a balance that you maintain in your PayPal or Venmo account. We have seen it go as high as 6% if the money source is from a foreign bank. Whatever that fee ends up being, we regretfully pass it on to you the customer. Since we have no way of knowing what your money source is, you will notice all payment choices for PayPal and Venmo have 3.49% + $0.49 added to the payment amount, which we do not receive. That fee goes to the payment service and we credit your customer account with the actual amount that we receive from the payment service. HOWEVER, If you choose, "send money to friends and family" instead of goods and services when making your payment transaction AND the money source is coming from a bank account or balance (rather than a credit card), PayPal and Venmo generally do not charge fees, and in that case you will notice that the extra fee you paid gets credited to the payments you have made to us and will be reflected in your customer account. Therefore, the choice is up to you if you want to choose "goods and services" or "friends and family", but we credit you with the net amount we receive from the payment service.

If You Would like to Make Any Payments Towards Your Puppy Purchase:

We have provided quick and easy links to each of the puppy litters that we are offering, which takes you directly to the payment and purchase options for those puppy litters (use the drop-down box shown below). You can do any of the following: (1) make a deposit on a Puppy Purchase that is currently available, (2) make a deposit on a Priority Reservation for an upcoming puppy litter, (3) make an additional payment towards a puppy you have already selected and is now over 5 weeks of age, or (4) pay your final balance before you take your puppy home. Using Venmo to make a deposit or a payment could save you approximately 4% for the fee that is charged on credit cards, depending on whether you choose "goods and services" or "friends and family" when you make the transaction. The Venmo payment options will only show when viewing this page from your smartphone or tablet, and you must install the Venmo App beforehand. If you do not have the App installed, you can get it for free at your phone's App store. PayPal will show as a payment option on smartphones, tablets AND desktops. The advantage of PayPal is that you can use a credit card to make your payment, but you will also pay a service fee to PayPal of approximately 4%. You can pay any amount towards your purchase and your payment will show up in your customer account usually less than 24 hours after the payment is received. If You Are Receiving Your Puppy From Us in Person:

If you are coming to our facility in south central Missouri to pick up your puppy, or if we are meeting you somewhere to deliver the puppy to you, you have two options to make your final payment: (1) pay ahead of time using PayPal or Venmo, or, (2) pay cash on delivery. We will notify you of the amount of your final balance in your customer account. Sales tax will be applied to ALL PURCHASES in the amount of 6.725% of the purchase price.

If you choose to pay with PayPal prior to receiving your puppy, we will send you an email that allows you to pay your balance using your credit card. PayPal has a 3.49% + $0.49 fee that is added to the balance owed if PayPal is used. There will be a clickable link in the email which allows you to use a major credit card or your PayPal account to pay the balance. This can be paid anytime prior to the pick-up or delivery date. You do not have to have a PayPal account to use PayPal; you only need a major credit card (note: debit cards may delay the payment process which may also delay your puppy's shipment date). If you choose to make your final payment in person on the date when we meet with you, the final balance must be paid in "cash only."

Venmo is an alternative payment method that allows you to send money directly from your bank to us using a smartphone app that you must install to use their service. With Venmo, the disadvantage is that you can't use a credit card, but the advantage is that there are no added fees. If a Buyer wishes to use Venmo to send a payment to us towards their puppy purchase, you can do a search in the Venmo app for, "Emery-n-Denise Golden Puppies." We will confirm your payment when it is received.

If We Are Shipping Your Puppy By Air:

If we are shipping the puppy to you by airline, you will need to pay the final balance the week before the puppy's travel date. There are three (3) accepted forms of payment: (1) U.S. Postal Money Order, or (2) PayPal, or (3) Venmo. PayPal has a 3.49% + $0.49 fee that is added to the balance owed if PayPal is used. If you choose to pay with PayPal, we will send you an email that has a clickable link in it which allows you to use a major credit card or your PayPal account to pay the balance. This must be paid a week prior to your puppy's travel date. You do not have to have a PayPal account to use PayPal; you only need a major credit card (note: debit cards may delay the payment process which may also delay your puppy's shipment date).

If paying by U.S. Postal Money Order, we must receive it 1 week prior to the puppies travel date. Upon your request, we will send you an email or text message for the amount of the balance due on your puppy. You can also contact us three weeks ahead of the shipping date to make arrangements for other methods to make your final payment. Bank cashier's checks are not accepted for the payment of your final balance.

After paying your final balance, this will complete your purchase transaction and we will see to it that you receive your baby Golden Retriever Puppy according to the delivery arrangements that we make with you.

Your Puppy's Delivery Date:

Please note that the puppy's delivery date is at around nine weeks of age. Airline travel is usually on the Friday just before or just after nine weeks of age. For pick-ups and deliveries, the date is usually on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday just before or just after the puppy is nine weeks of age. Upon request, the buyer can request up to one week delay of delivery at no additional charge. Longer delays of up to 1 month are possible for a weekly fee of $100 to cover additional costs and veterinary care. Waiting until the puppy is nine weeks old before delivery allows us to give the vaccination shots at an older stage of the puppy's growth growth so that the mother's colostrum from nursing does not neutralize the puppy's vaccinations. It's also a lot easier on a young puppy's developing immune system, and it is recommended by vets who are more concerned with doggy health rather than how many dog patients they can see each month (sounds a lot like human doctors these days…).

Bonuses You Receive With Your Purchase:

The purchase of each purebred Golden Retriever puppy will normally come with the following items. However, if you have been offered special pricing, or negotiated other terms and conditions for the purchase of one of our pups, the bonus items below would not be included with your purchase:

We take this application so that we can get to know our customers a little better, and we want our puppies to be a good fit for you and your family. Our application consists of about a dozen simple questions that give you an opportunity to introduce yourself and describe the home you are able to provide for our puppy. We would like to thank you in advance for sharing this info about yourself, and also assure you that your information is confidential with us (we will not share it or your contact information with anyone, ever, period). Then you should read our "Purchase Agreement and Supplemental Terms & Conditions". This is verbatim what our contract will look like. If you have any questions, call us and we are more than happy to discuss them with you. When you decide that you are comfortable with owning your very own Golden puppy, consider reserving a male or female puppy by placing your deposit to get on our Priority List so that you can pick your puppy at five weeks of age. A specific puppy of your choice will be available for purchase after the pups reach five weeks of age. If you are already on our Priority reservation list and have prepaid your deposit, we will schedule a time for you to either come see the puppies in person, do a video chat with you, or email you multiple pictures of each of the available puppies for you to choose from. Then, after all Priority buyers have made their choices, all puppy photos will be shown here on our website and those that are still available for purchase will have a "Pay Now" PayPal button next to them so that you can easily make your deposit. At that time however, the deposit is $500 and is non-refundable after 72-hours. Even if you don't have a PayPal account, you can still use the "Pay Now" button and pay securely with your major credit card. Keep in mind that PayPal charges a 3.49% + $0.49 fee to use their services and this amount has been added to the deposit amount. Please check with your financial institution before using a "Debit" card to make a PayPal transaction. Your bank may delay the payment when using a debit card. The same is true with PayPal eChecks. Using a Debit card or a PayPal eCheck will delay your deposit by up to a week and allow others to get the puppy that you were wanting because we received their deposit quicker than the debit or eCheck method. Should that occur, we will allow you to choose another puppy or issue a refund of all monies to the party whose deposit arrived after another party's deposit for the same puppy.

PayPal is the fastest way to reserve your puppy now, and you don't have to take a chance on the U.S. Mail arriving after another buyer's deposit for the same puppy. Please be aware that until we receive your deposit, we can not reserve your puppy for you. Deposits are non-refundable 72 hours after making your payment. Also, please be aware that your puppy purchase includes a microchip identification implant. For enrollment in the pet recovery service, we will pay the lifetime enrollment fee to AKC Reunite animal recovery service. This will setup your personal contact information into the AKC Reunite national database for the animal recovery service which is a lifetime membership at no extra charge to you.

The Purchase Agreement and all other paperwork will be included with your puppy purchase if the puppy is being shipped to you. After receiving the agreement, you will need to sign page 2 and initial page 4, then send it back to us by postal mail to the address listed on page 2 of the Agreement. If we are meeting you in person for the delivery of your puppy, we will have copies of the Purchase Agreement ready for signing at that time.

We strongly recommend that you call us at (417) 559-3305 to confirm your puppy selection before you make your deposit. Then use the "Pay Now" buttons on our website to make your deposit and reserve your puppy. Postal Money orders are also acceptable, but PayPal has the fastest service and will insure your reservation for the puppy you choose. Even if you don't have a PayPal account, you can still use the "Pay Now" button and pay securely with your major credit card (Buyer pays the PayPal fees, which have been added to the deposit amount).
